I'm Collin and I created Mossy Canvas as an outlet for a craving for adventure and exploration.
It's probably pretty obvious that nature is a big inspiration for me but what are some of my other inspirations?
My main inspiration is probably all the neighborhood adventures I had as a kid. Close friends and my brother and I were always exploring the block and getting into trouble. Flashlight tag, exploring the 'jungle' behind the closed-down Drug Emporium, and making fake treasure maps are just a few of my early adventure memories.
I have many other inspirations including the books, movies, and video games I experienced when I was a little rapscallion. If it was Sci-Fi or fantasy I was probably into it. If the characters went off on some far-away journey, even better. If I think back on some key moments that gave me the feeling I try to recreate they could be Luke leaving the farm, The Goonies finding a treasure map, the quest to the Lonely Mountain, or listening your way through the Lost Woods. The start of a new adventure always feels exciting, and it feels like anything is possible.
